SAVE ON LOTTERY TICKETS

December 31st 2009 12:03
For those of us who are regular players of government run
lotteries, the idea is to win while spending the least amount of
money. Right?

So here are a few strategies to spend less on lottery tickets and
win more:

1) Play the games with the best odds of winning.
a. Most lotteries post the probability of winning statistics
on their websites or printed publications. Research this!

2) Lower tier prizes add up to reduce your cost of weekly
ticket buying.
a. Play the games with generous lower tier prize payouts.

3) Play the games with an "Instant Win" component as well

as the regular draw prize payouts.
a. Find out how many "plays" are needed to qualify for an
"Instant Win" entry. For instance, some lotteries require
a minimum US$5 ticket purchase to qualify. So if you
normally purchase more than $5 per week in "plays,"
divide them up on multiple cards so each one is at least
the minimum to qualify. Make sense?

4) If you have any questions about odds or drawing specifics,
call the lottery office and speak to a "live person." They know
the answers and are paid to help you.

SAVE ON SKI VACATIONS

December 22nd 2009 21:43
Here's a number of ways to save on your next ski vacation. First and
foremost, avoid the "holiday" periods when demand is high with prices
to match. Second, always check a ski resort's website "deals" section
to see what their current off-price promotions are going for before
booking over the telephone.

If you can rustle up a group of ten or more friends to book lodging
and lift tickets at a particular resort, you can negotiate a "group
rate" with the resort's group sales department. It will help if you
call yourself a ski club and come up with a name for your group

of ski buddies.

It also pays to check ski tour company's websites to see their
current offerings. The tour company's are able to buy lodging,
lifts, meal packages and transportation at wholesale rates.

Research, savvy comparative shopping, creativity and flexibility
are the keys to landing a quality ski vacation package at sale
prices.

ELECTRONIC GROCERY SAVINGS

December 15th 2009 22:37
Before visiting the shopping arena most of us must visit on a
weekly basis--the "Supermarket Chain Store"--try checking
their websites before visiting. In many cases, the chain
supermarkets post their specials and printable coupons on
line.

There's a relatively new twist in the online coupon jungle:
supermarket chains are beginning to offer "electronic"
coupons where it is not necessary to take the time and sacrifice
your own paper and expensive printer ink to print out a coupon.

For instance, the Pathmark supermarket chain, located
in the U.S. metro mid-Atlantic region is currently promoting
electronic coupons linked to their "Advantage Club"
shopper cards.

Of course, when signing up for these various supermarket
frequent shopper cards, the corporation offering them will
want more information about you, then they need to know
when you signup.

And then of course, they want to track your every purchase
from diapers to adult products.

For privacy's sake, it pays to investigate the possibility of
registering with any supermarket chain as an anonymous
shopper and yet still take advantage of their frequent shopper
card deals.
