Bargain Value - March 2010

SAVE ENERGY WHILE COOKING

March 29th 2010 10:32
Energy costs clandestinely add up while cooking. Unlike a gasoline
pump, where you can see your hard-earned funds displayed as
you pump, stoves and ovens have no visible meters readily
available.

Regardless if you can see the numbers or not, cooking appliances
suck expensive kilowatts or propane every time they are in use.

Here's one simple tip to save money while range top cooking. Say
you'd like to cook up some pasta with a side of boiled vegetables.

Why not cook the pasta first in a pot of boiling water, remove the pasta
when done but instead of dumping the heated water, simply add the

vegetables and cook in the same water.

You'll not only save energy but time as well!

SAVE ON FACIAL TISSUES

March 18th 2010 11:45
Had it with the high price of brand name facial tissue products
like Kleenex and Scotties? Why pay premium, inflated prices
to support a pretty box, corporate greed and advertising for
a two second, blow-your-nose disposable product.

The answer my friends is: you don't have to pay up-the-nose
for a piece of tissue paper to blow your nose with!

To really save $$$s, why not use a roll of toilet tissue, a generic
brand of course? Both products are basically the same thing,
a piece of soft paper to wipe your, well you know........, and
one packaged in a pretty box to blow your nose with.

Use TP for your nose needs and save. If you must have a pretty
tissue box in your bathroom for guests, simply divide a roll of
toilet paper in to individual sheets and load it in the box of your
choice.

CREDIT CARD COBWEB CUNNING

March 8th 2010 23:31
Yes, once again, with the recent changes in United States laws
regarding credit card companies, many of them are trying to
circumvent the written legalese through cunning, yet subtle
ways. Like the cobwebs in your abode, they seem harmless
enough, yet they have the ability to capture the unwary nano
scale organism.....and as far as credit card companies go
folks, we, the consumer are that nanoscale organism ripe
for the devouring.

Here's the latest crafty change to Kohl's ( a U.S. chain
store operation) coming to you verbatim from the crafty keyboard
of one, Troy A. Carrothers, an alleged, " senior vice president."

It's up to you and of course, your legal team to find the cobwery
traps inherent in the following trap:

"We are writing to inform you about changes to your Account that
will be effective February 21, 2010. These changes apply to the
variable Annual Percentage Rates (APRs) on your account ( e.g.
standard, or penalty) that have a minimum APR. This means that
such APRs generally vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

Please keep this notice as it amends your Cardmember Agreement.
Your other Account terms remain in effect.

If you have any questions, please contact us. It will be our pleasure to
assist you."

Thank you Troy buddy for that rather mouthful of verbage.
Tell us "Troy," short for perhaps "Trojan Horse?" How many consumers
do you expect to Bernie Madoff out of their hard-earned dollars?
