Bargain Value - May 2010

WATCH THE MEMORIAL DAY SALES

May 21st 2010 19:17
Once again in the U.S., the national and regional chain stores
are mailing out their Memorial Day week sale flyers. It's
worth taking a look at some of the loss-leader bargains
featured.

Many of the sale flyers, especially food and drug store chains,
have issued store-only coupons within the pages of their sale
flyers. For the most part, the products offered are an excellent
value.

So before you toss the weekly junk mail flyers flooding in this
week, take a brief peruse of what's being promoted. Could be worth
your time, if there are great deals on products that you use on

a regular basis.

Be sure to watch the start and finish sale dates printed on the
Memorial Day week sale flyers.

CONSIDER DECLARING A "NO DRIVE DA

May 13th 2010 19:32
With the ever escalating price of petrol infecting
world markets on a daily basis due to natural disasters,
corporate neglect, violence and the ceaseless greed of
commodity traders, one major way to combat this
tyranny is to declare "No Drive Days" for yourself &
loved ones.

Try picking at least one day per week to declare your
personal NO DRIVE DAY. Leave the gas-sucking ICE
(internal combustion engine) driven motor vehicle in the
garage. Let it rest for at least one day.

As an alternative, try hoofing it, cycling, bumming a ride
with friends and just plain staying at home for a change.

Think of how much money you'll save each year by doing this,
and of course, the positive results this will have for the planet
we commonly call "Earth." Not to mention, sending the greed
monger oil companies, the message "We're not gonna take it
anymore!"

As soon as electric cars become massed produced we can
tell BP, Shell, Exxon, Mobil, Chevron and the rest of those
clowns to take their oil and shove it where the sun don't shine!

IT'S YARD SALE SEASON!

May 10th 2010 11:59
Yup, it's that time of year again when homeowners throughout
America hold those perennial yard sales. You know, they tack
handwritten signs to telephone poles, set up folding tables with
a cash box and drag hundreds of castoff treasures out of their
homes.

Sometimes these sales are filled with useless novelty items,
like "must-have" souvenirs from some long forgotten vacation,
lampshades and obsolete electronics. Other times, people
are selling the best stuff in their homes because they are moving
and don't want to drag the stuff around with them.

Regardless of the quality and variety of the merchandise offered
for sale--the better stuff can be found in upscale neighborhoods--
one thing is certain: bargain prices prevail, and the owners are
willing to dicker over lowball offers!

Yard Sales are worth stopping by if you are looking for a particular
item, say garden tools for instance. At a hardware store a good
quality shovel may run US$40 while the yard sale price can be as
low as $1.

For someone looking to furnish an apartment on the cheap, yard
sale prices can't be beat!

HAVE A SUPERMARKET PLAN

May 5th 2010 16:28
Most savvy shoppers enter a supermarket armed with a list, but
how many actually create a plan and stick to it? A well planned
shopping foray into enemy territory, dominated by sophisticated
