Bargain Value - July 2010

NETFLIX NO BARGAIN

July 27th 2010 15:24
As Netflix steadily Walmarted the mom & pop corner
video rental store out of existence, the quality of their
service is on a pronounced downhill course.

While Netflix's minimum monthly fee is affordable,
the caveat is: one must rely upon the nuances of
the U.S. Postal Service's delivery ability. The
minimum turn-around time from receipt of one DVD
to receipt of the next selection is three days.

The major problem with Netflix's DVDs are they are
handled by far too many people and it seems, not cleaned
between mailings.

In my two year experience with this outfit, about 90 percent

of the DVDs they have sent me have skipped or froze during
play on more than one of my machines. Of course, I've made
it a habit to clean each new arrival before playing, but many
times that doesn't help.

I recently returned one (that I was looking forward to watching)
because it won't play past the first few scenes.

So it's bye-bye Netflix. "It's over between us baby!"

SAVE ON INK CARTRIDGES

July 23rd 2010 12:24
Let's face it. Printer ink cartridges are expensive--a little ink
in exchange for lots of cash. However, there are ways to save
when purchasing the little devils.

NUMBER ONE: Buy remanufactured refill cartridges if your printer
will accept them.

NUMBER TWO: Shop around between big box, electronic and
office supply stores and mail order suppliers.

NUMBER THREE: Don't buy too many at one time because
greedy corporations like HP have inserted expiration chips in
their products. If the chip informs your machine your expensive
little cartridge has expired, well, you've got a worthless product.

NUMBER FOUR: It's usually worth the money to purchase
so called "high capacity cartridges" as opposed to standard
ones. The per page printing cost is lower.

NUMBER FIVE: Recycle your cartridges at your nearest STAPLES
store and receive US$2 in store credit vouchers (payable on a
monthly basis; limit 10 cartridges per month.)

There's this guy in Boca Raton who is willing to negotiate
purchases on your behalf in exchange for half the money
he whittles down the salesperson for. You pay at the
conclusion of the deal.

Say for instance, you're in Best Buy checking out the latest
50 inch LCD television. You look at the price tag and try
to haggle for a better price with the flunkies working the
sales floor. Nice dice.

So you go to Allan Stark's website @ Negotiate4U.net and
make arrangements for him to deal with Best Buy on your
behalf. If he manages to save you bucks, you split the savings
with him.

Sounds fair enough. Negotiating is work after all. He'll
rattle the cable company's chains for you, deal with
cell phone providers, car dealers, or just about any other
legitimate business for that matter.
