There's this guy in Boca Raton who is willing to negotiate
purchases on your behalf in exchange for half the money
he whittles down the salesperson for. You pay at the
conclusion of the deal.

Say for instance, you're in Best Buy checking out the latest
50 inch LCD television. You look at the price tag and try
to haggle for a better price with the flunkies working the
sales floor. Nice dice.

So you go to Allan Stark's website @ Negotiate4U.net and
make arrangements for him to deal with Best Buy on your
behalf. If he manages to save you bucks, you split the savings

with him.

Sounds fair enough. Negotiating is work after all. He'll
rattle the cable company's chains for you, deal with
cell phone providers, car dealers, or just about any other
legitimate business for that matter.

SAVE ON BOOKS

SAVE ON BOOKS

Books? Remember those quaint low-tech devices that
do not require batteries or electricity to enjoy? They
offer countless hours of low cost entertainment and
can be used again and again.

By far, the greatest value in book buying can
be found at library book sales. At a recent
one I attended, over 6,000 books on all imaginable
subjects were offered for sale at salvage prices:
US$1 for hard covers or four soft cover books for
US$2.

All the books I purchased were in near mint condition.
It looked like they had been read once and then

tucked away on a shelf.

The key to finding the best selection of books
that interest you, including recent best sellers,
is to watch for advertisements promoting library
book sales and plan to arrive early on the day
of the sale.

Many libraries also offer discarded books for
free or at giveaway prices. If you're passing
by a public or college library, stop in and look
around for the book sale rack or notices
of an impending sale.

A few years ago, I purchased a 12 volume
hard cover set of the complete works of Charles
Dickens for all of US$7 at a library sale.

You know who else shops the library sales?
Many used book dealers who operate small shops
show up as well. You can usually spot them right
away. They are the ones grazing the sale tables
with cardboard boxes under their arms to deposit
their book haul in.

Besides the great prices, browsing at library book
sales is exciting in a way. You'll never know what
treasures you'll find.

SAVE ON WINDOW CLEANER

SAVE ON WINDOW CLEANER

Since it isn't a "big ticket" item, most people don't look
for ways to save on their purchases of common
window cleaner products.

Why not? All those little household purchases add up from
year to year. If you were able to save a dollar or two on
each purchase you would be enriching your family's
bank account rather than some mega corporation's
coffers.

Here's a way to save on window cleaner, a item that most
households have at least one bottle of in the cupboard.

Rather than reaching for the big name brand product of
window cleaner with its premium price, drop by the local
dollar store and buy a product that will do the simple
work of cleaning glass surfaces for just a dollar.

Better yet.......make your own window cleaner.
All you need is an inexpensive bottle of ammonia,
a bottle of common isopropyl alcohol (available
in pharmacies and supermarkets), tap water
and an empty spray bottle.

Fill the bottle a little over a quarter full with ammonia,
add a few ounces of isopropyl alcohol (four percent
of the container's total volume) and fill the remainder
with tap water.

Replace the spray bottle insert and cap. Shake, or stir
if you prefer; and there you go a bottle of excellent
window cleaner for just pennies.

Be sure to save the bottles of isopropyl alcohol
and ammonia to refill your window cleaner bottle.

Yeah, your homemade window cleaner won't have that
pretty blue color of the expensive stuff, but window
cleaner can be any color including clear!

If you really have to have a colored bottle of window
cleaner, add a drop or two of food coloring and make
it any color you like.

I called this series, The Top 10 Ebay Bargains of 2007 (in reviewing Fortunes top 10 in-demand toys) because all these items that are so expensive this year are almost all certain to be back on Ebay at relatively huge bargains.

Now, some are constantly upgrading every year. The toy companies depend on these people to make each year a better one than the last. They’ve got more than enough fools out there, don’t you be one of them

On the Hunt for a Laptop

November 17th 2006 06:53
In a few months, I’m going to buy a laptop. Consider this a trial run. The first step in the Bargain Hunt is to define what I need and my needs are simple. A computer that’s wi-fi capable and has basic word processing. I won’t be playing any game more complicated than Mine Sweeper.

The final thing I need to do is define my budget and I’ll set it as $450. Basically, what I need is a Windows computer with a 802.11 card. First thing I do is go to Ebay search for Laptops and then click on the Buy It Now tab and sort the items in price from lowest to highest. Now, you’ll get a string of people promising free laptops on a $5 bid or so. Just ignore those and look for the real machines. Now, you’ll want to skip ahead several pages because you’re going to get old junk that generally doesn’t work until you get above $100 or so. In the process of my search on Ebay, I eliminate several computers. One has an old battery that will likely fail. Others at this price are junk usable mainly for parts or repair. A $225 laptop from an Ebay seller with a 99.4% positive rating looks like a winner but a $249.99 laptop will do the job better. The $225 laptop has 128 MB of RAM, while the $249.99 has 256 MB of RAM. Both have Windows XP and while 128 MB is listed as a minimum requirement, a realistic computer tech. knows you can’t run XP at all on less than 256 with even decent performance

My wife’s kilt making company received an inquiry for a Sgian Dubh (pronounced Skeen Doo). Now, she sells kilts, but no accessories other than Flashes. The customer was looking for a decorative design for around $25.

A Sgian Dubh is a small dagger that clips on a kilt wearer’s kilt hose. Whenever I’m looking for something rare like that, I’m not going to bother with a retail site like Amazon or Walmart. I’ll start with Ebay
