FREE GARLIC!
September 22nd 2009 12:06
With the advent of the dreaded flu season, adding raw garlic to
one's diet is an easy, low cost and effective way to boost your
immune system.
Now is the time to plant garlic cloves in your garden or indoor
container pots. Once planted in well drained soil, garlic is
a maintenance free plant which has the potential to yield
pounds of healthy cloves, year after year.
To get started growing your own free garlic, simply pick up
a few fresh bulbs at your nursery center, supermarket or
vegetable purveyors.
Gently separate the cloves and plant them pointy side up
three to four inches in the soil. Yes, they will grow indoors
as long as some sun or adequate electric light is available.
Don't forget to water the indoor plants.
Not only does planted garlic cloves yield new bulbs eight months
later, but seed heads as well. The seed heads are mini garlic
cloves which can be eaten or replanted.
Garlic also produces flowers before going to seed which bees and
hummingbirds love!
