IT'S YARD SALE SEASON!

Yup, it's that time of year again when homeowners throughout
America hold those perennial yard sales. You know, they tack
handwritten signs to telephone poles, set up folding tables with
a cash box and drag hundreds of castoff treasures out of their
homes.
Sometimes these sales are filled with useless novelty items,
like "must-have" souvenirs from some long forgotten vacation,
lampshades and obsolete electronics. Other times, people
are selling the best stuff in their homes because they are moving
and don't want to drag the stuff around with them.
Regardless of the quality and variety of the merchandise offered
for sale--the better stuff can be found in upscale neighborhoods--
one thing is certain: bargain prices prevail, and the owners are
willing to dicker over lowball offers!
Yard Sales are worth stopping by if you are looking for a particular
item, say garden tools for instance. At a hardware store a good
quality shovel may run US$40 while the yard sale price can be as
low as $1.
For someone looking to furnish an apartment on the cheap, yard
sale prices can't be beat!
