SAVE ON JUICING
August 16th 2011 23:03
For many of us who enjoy whipping up our own
vegetable and fruit juices, there is always that
perplexing question: "What do I do with the shavings
the juicer machine kicks out into the waste bucket?"
Seems a crying shame to dump all that fresh pulp
down the garbage disposal or into the trash can after
the health juice is made.
For those of you who live in rural or suburban areas,
compost piles are nearby but how 'bout this idea:
After you run all those expensive veggies through your
juice machine and chugged down your morning glass
of liquid-health gold, why not stick the shredded pulp
remains in the fridge?
When you get home from work you can take the shreds,
mix them into a salad or stir fry dish for even more
value-added health.
Hey, it's a shame to waste good fresh veggie products,
in any way or form, particularly for you city-dwellers who
are paying premium prices for the good stuff at your corner
green grocer's.
