SAVE ON OIL
Here at EL CHEAPO we have come up with field proven ways to
save on your oil purchases, from home heating oil to refined
gasoline we've got you covered.
Everyone likes to save money on oil right? Why make corporations like
Exxon and greedy commodities traders rich at your expense?
Today's money saving tip is geared towards do-it-yourself homeowner
types who use chainsaws occasionally.
Chainsaws require a lubricating oil pumped onto the rotating chain to cut
down on wear and tear and to prevent overheating. We got
tired of paying for expensive store-bought "bar oil" as it's called.
So we asked ourselves, what would work just as well? What do we have
a lot of, hanging around in the barn begging to be recycled?
Looking around the barn we spotted half gallon plastic jugs
filled to the brim with used motor oil drained from our vehicles
during oil changes. Why not try that on the saw's chain? It's free.
After doing this for the past few years, we discovered that
used motor oil effectively lubricates the chain just as well as
expensive virgin oil products. We haven't had any problems
with this method and we are getting double use from our motor oil!
