THE GREAT GASOLINE PRICE GAME

January 22nd 2010 12:42
Ever notice that the price of gasoline tends to rise in spurts
and drop back down a few weeks later? To minimize your
average cost per gallon it pays to tune into these prize waves.

Say for example, you notice the price per gallon at your local
stations has been steadily rising every other day. This is
good time to fill your tank and perhaps a few extra portable
five gallon cans as well.

This strategy will help you to get through a week or so of rising
prices. Then when you need gas again during inflationary
price spikes, just buy the minimum gallons you need to get through

the day.

If everyone did this, demand would fall and commodity traders daily
haul would fall as well.

Another money saving strategy is it to make a habit of always purchasing
gas at the station offering the lowest price, even if the difference is a
cent or two. The other stations, most of which are "convenience stores",
will soon get the message that business is dropping off, not only in gasoline
sales but high profit food and beverage sales as well.

Try sharing notes with your friends and coworkers where the best gas price
is on a daily basis through electronic communication or face-to-face.

Have hope though. Mass produced electric cars are coming!
