THIRFT STORES ARE FOR EVERYONE
October 14th 2009 20:20
There's a certain negative stigma connected with thrift stores
run by the Salvation Army and other charities. Some people
believe that shopping in these type of stores is only for the
very poor or destitute types.
If you one of those who avoid shopping, or at least browsing,
in thrift stores, you are missing out on some incredible
good buys. Many times, new or barely used merchandise
is donated to these stores by businesses or affluent individuals.
The merchandise is then priced to sell quickly. It's not unusual
to find items in their original, unopened factory sealed boxes.
Even if you are not moved to buy anything in a charity thrift store,
a good habit to develop is stopping by now and again to donate
items you'd like to clear out of your home. Not only is it a nice
thing to do, if you ask, the store will issue you a non-cash
donation receipt suitable for a tax deduction.
